Oct 28, 2013 454km/5,263km Lawton – Ada – McAlister – Ouachita National Park

More driving…past some chili fields. Finally had a steak at the Santa Fe (New Mexico) Roadhouse in Oklahoma, does that count as a Texas Steak? It wasn't 72oz, though! ;-) Couldn't quite get used to the sight during lunch: a bunch of guys with cowboy hats, guns and additional ammo. The horse was waiting outside on a trailer. And one of those guys was wearing a Sherriff’s Star. We are not used to that kind of stuff. Neither to all those signs advertising guns and ammo along the road…

By the way, not a single day passes without us referring to Wirtgen in some way, Wirtgen being the German Road Building (and other) Machines production company my sister works for (www.wirtgen-group.com/en/). It’s either “Men, they need a Wirtgen here!” or “Wow, they must have used a Wirtgen here!” :-) So far, we’ve seen 2 Wirtgens, 1 Vögele and 1 Weiler (the last one probably doesn’t belong to the Wirtgen Group, but it sounded pretty German, too.)
