Chester's way of playing ball |
Visited the Pecos National Park in the morning. Unfortunately, not many of the ruins of that pueblo have survived, I would have loved to see more. Imagine, 4 stories high, built with just the most rudimentary tools and material over 600 years ago! In the 1400s, 2,000 Indians lived in the Pueblo of Pecos, farming and trading with the nomadic Apaches for buffalo hides, textiles, etc. They became economically quite powerful, but unfortunately, the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors introduced the slow end of their flourishing culture.
View of a Kivas, a special place to Puebloan people, either in ceremonial or social ways |
Lots of driving today through a mostly boring area, crossing
the Great Plains. Chuckled a bit about places like ‘Wildorado’ and ‘Bushland’.
Had to switch from Mountain to Central Time.
See what I mean?!! |
Hey, Chester has been doing good in New Mexico: He's got his own fast food chain! |
Nothing much to tell other than
that tonight was the night we turned into
WALMARTians…
RV camping in Walmart's parking lot makes you a Walmartian Our night didn't come with quite that much action. Or maybe we just slept through it?! |
